ANN reported today on the removal of a book called Manga: Sixty Years of Japanese Comics, written by Paul Gravett, from the libraries of San Bernadino, CA, County. A mother had been notified of the obscene content by her 16-year old son, who happened upon the book in a shelf nearby other popular children’s comics. Soon after, Bill Postmus, County Chair of the Board of Supervisors, shared his indigination in his official request to have the reference book removed from all of the county’s libraries. “That book is absolutely inappropriate for a public library and as soon as I was made aware of it yesterday, I ordered it to be removed immediately,” he said in an immediate press release from his office.
